Dearest Papa,
the picnic day was wonderful! My employer Miss Isobel Violet Franklin commented favorably about the flowers on display. She did not appreciate my broken fingernails from all the weeding I had done, but I am sure she was most impressed with the results of my efforts.
Spring is such a marvelous time of year, I sometimes feel my heart will burst with pleasure as I admire the exquisite colours and shapes of the flowers that appear as if on cue. So many happy memories are stirred as I catch the perfume of the peach scented roses, and the jasmine twining about the palings on the fence.
Miss Fenella found two four leaf clovers at the bottom of the garden. The smaller one for me, the larger for Miss Isobel. She is pressing them in her notebook.
Miss Abigail sang beautifully to us all and read the rune stones.I dare not tell Mama as she would not approve!
Papa, there are so many things that Mama does not approve of. I am truly blessed to be able to share my thoughts with you.  I do miss you so.

              Your loving daughter
                    Miss Leonora Godaire
